While we don’t provide direct legal services, we can connect you with housing resources and advocacy organizations that specialize in eviction prevention. Our Home Improvement Program helps make homes more efficient to reduce utility costs, which can help families stay in their homes. Call us at (720) 254-7485 and we’ll help connect you with the right resources for your situation.
No, most of our programs don’t require income verification or extensive documentation. We believe in removing barriers to assistance. For our Home Improvement Program, we may need to verify property ownership or get landlord permission for renters, but we keep paperwork minimal. Our youth programs, events, and community services are open to all without any documentation required.
We believe in second chances and community redemption. We evaluate volunteers on a case-by-case basis depending on the type of volunteer work. Some positions working directly with youth may require background checks, but we have many other volunteer opportunities available. Contact Rebecca Trujillo at (720) 254-7485 to discuss your situation confidentially.
Globeville First is unique because we’re 100% resident-led – our board members and leadership all live in Globeville. We emerged from the community’s direct action in 2019 when residents united to prioritize existing neighbors’ needs. Unlike organizations that serve the neighborhood from outside, we ARE the neighborhood. Our name “Globeville First” reflects our commitment to always putting current residents’ wellbeing before new development or outside interests.
Absolutely! We welcome all children and work to accommodate various needs. Please contact us before events so we can ensure proper accommodations are in place. Whether it’s mobility assistance, sensory considerations, or other support needs, we’ll do our best to ensure every child can participate fully. Call us at (720) 254-7485 to discuss specific accommodations.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we maintain financial transparency. Since we’re volunteer-driven with minimal overhead, the vast majority of donations go directly to program costs – materials for home repairs, youth program supplies, event expenses, etc. We’re also 100% resident-led, so the money stays in Globeville supporting your neighbors. Donors can request to see our annual reports or even visit our programs in action.
Globeville First serves ALL community members regardless of immigration status. We don’t ask about documentation status and we don’t share information with immigration authorities. Our mission is to support every family in our neighborhood. All our programs are confidential and safe spaces for everyone in the community.
Yes! We welcome sponsorships for specific programs or events. For example, a business could sponsor our Globeville Youth Day, Toys for Kids drive, or a neighborhood cleanup. Sponsors receive recognition and the satisfaction of directly impacting local families. Contact us at globevillefirst@gmail.com to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
